The Prayer Ministry at Christian World is the cornerstone for the all of our ministries and programs that we are involved in.  We believe that prayer is not an option but rather an essential part of daily living. No prayer, no power!  We encourage Christians to seek the Lord in prayer above all else, and teach them to develop their own personal prayer lives.   Our weekly prayer times offer opportunities for people to learn to pray-as individuals or in small groups-and to engage in a purposeful life of prayer.  In addition, our Prayer-Suite is open daily to individuals desiring to pray.

Our Mission is to support the pastors with a covering of prayer, to intercede for the needs of the church body and community, and to lead people to Christ.

The prayer ministry covers many aspects of ministry. Several are listed below and training is available for those who are qualified to participate.

Hospital Visitation

The purpose of the Hospital Visitation Ministry of Christian World is to provide support for hospitalized members and their attending family.

More specifically, the Hospital Visitation Ministry exists to

• ensure that all members of the congregation and their attending family are offered the presence of a lay volunteer/lay minister before and during surgery;

• ensure that those who are hospitalized for extended periods receive regular follow up visits and calls;

• ensure that any member, who is hospitalized for whatever reason, receives a visit or phone call.

We make every effort to be with our membership in times of hospitalization.  If you will be having a surgical procedure, please let us know so that we can make arrangements to be with you before and during the surgery. Contact prayer@christianworld.cc or 337-475-0157.

This ministry is also charged with equipping lay volunteers with the pastoral skills needed to minister to those who are in a care facility.  If you would like more information contact us at info@christianworld.cc or 337-475-0157.

Prayer Counselors

The Prayer Counseling Team members partner with those who come forward at Wednesday and Sunday Services (as well as other events) to accept Christ or rededicate their lives to Him.  To become a team member please contact Patti Archer at 475-0157 or info@christianworld.cc to schedule a meeting.
